Space and composition

Composition: rule of thirds, balance and focal point

Where you place something in your picture changes what it tells. With the rule of thirds, balance and a focal point, you steer the eye of whoever is looking.

First stage of secondary school12 to 16 yearsDraft: Not yet checked by an art teacher.

Why

Why does a photo with the horizon exactly in the middle often look boring?

Composition is the arrangement of everything inside your frame: what goes where, how big, and what you notice first.

A good composition leads the eye. A weak one lets it wander, or cuts the picture into two halves.
