Proportions of a face and a figure
The eyes are halfway down the head and an adult is about seven to eight heads tall. With guide measurements like these, you draw people who look right.
Why
Why do the eyes in many drawn faces seem to sit too high, and why does a drawn child sometimes look like a small adult?
When we draw a face, we draw what we think we know, not what we see. That is why we nearly always put the eyes too high.
A few simple guide measurements help you draw a face and a figure in the right proportions. After that, you are free to move away from them on purpose.
